Fluted Bezel

A Signature Detail

The fluted bezel is one of the most distinctive design elements of Rolex watches. Initially, its fluted structure served a practical purpose, allowing the bezel to be securely screwed onto the case to help maintain the watch’s water resistance.

This design was mirrored on the case back, which was also tightly screwed into the case using specialized Rolex tools to ensure durability and protection.

Over time, the fluting evolved from a functional feature into a refined aesthetic signature. Today, it stands as a symbol of elegance and distinction, often crafted in gold on models like the Lady-Datejust, enhancing its luxurious appeal.

White Dial

Refined Simplicity and Craftsmanship

The white dial represents a perfect balance of elegance and precision in watchmaking by Rolex. Lacquer finishing allows exceptional freedom in achieving a pure, even colour with a smooth and refined surface.

The process involves carefully applying six ultra-thin layers of lacquer onto a brass base, building depth and consistency with each coat. A transparent varnish is then added to enhance brightness, richness, and overall visual depth.

Once dried, the surface is finely polished to bring out a clean, luminous finish. The dial is then prepared for final detailing, including pad printing and the placement of applied hour markers, completing its elegant appearance.
