Aubergine Dial

A Watchmaking Technique

The aubergine dial reflects refined watchmaking craftsmanship, enhanced by the signature sunray finish found across the Oyster Perpetual collection. This technique creates delicate light reflections that give the dial depth, richness, and a subtle radiance.

It is achieved through masterful brushing methods that form fine grooves radiating outward from the centre of the dial, producing a precisely structured surface.

As light moves across these engravings, it is evenly diffused, creating a soft glow that shifts with wrist movement. The dial also features a large Roman numeral VI set with 11 diamonds, adding a refined decorative accent.

Once the sunray finish is complete, the aubergine colour is applied using advanced Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) or electroplating techniques.

A final protective layer of varnish enhances depth, brilliance, and durability, completing the dial with a smooth and polished finish.

The diamond-set bezel reflects refined gem-setting artistry, where skilled craftsmen carefully carve precious metal to create perfectly formed seats for each gemstone. Every diamond is precisely placed, meticulously aligned, and securely set in gold or platinum.
