Limitless freedom

Lacquer offers almost limitless freedom in colour creation, combining deep intensity with a perfectly smooth finish. The process begins with the successive application of multiple thin layers of lacquer on a brass base plate.

A colourless varnish is then applied to enhance depth and brilliance, giving the dial its rich, luminous finish. Once dried, the surface is carefully polished to intensify the colour and achieve a flawless appearance.

The dial is then pad-printed and fitted with applied elements, completing a refined and precise design.

By operating its own exclusive foundry, Rolex has complete control over the creation of its 18 ct gold alloys. By precisely adjusting the proportions of silver, copper, platinum, or palladium, different variations are produced, including yellow, Everose, and white gold.

Only the purest metals are selected and meticulously inspected in advanced in-house laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology before being formed and shaped with exceptional precision.
