Pink Dial

A watchmaking technique

The sunray finish creates delicate light reflections, a signature detail found across many Oyster Perpetual dials. It is achieved through masterful brushing techniques that form fine grooves radiating outward from the centre of the dial.

These engravings diffuse light evenly, producing a subtle glow that shifts with the movement of the wrist.

Once the sunray texture is complete, the dial colour is applied using advanced methods such as Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating. A final coat of varnish enhances depth, clarity, and a polished finish.

By operating its own exclusive foundry, Rolex has complete control over the creation of its 18 ct gold alloys. By precisely adjusting the proportions of silver, copper, platinum, or palladium, different variations are produced, including yellow, Everose, and white gold.

Only the purest metals are selected to ensure exceptional quality from the very beginning. Each alloy is meticulously inspected in advanced in-house laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology before being shaped and refined.
