Silver Dial

A Watchmaking Technique

The silver dial reflects refined watchmaking craftsmanship, enhanced by the signature sunray finish used across the Oyster Perpetual collection. This technique creates delicate light reflections that give the dial depth, clarity, and a subtle radiance.

It is achieved through masterful brushing methods that form fine grooves radiating outward from the centre of the dial, producing a precisely structured surface.

As light moves across these engravings, it is evenly diffused, creating a soft glow that shifts with wrist movement. The dial also features diamonds set in 18 ct gold settings, adding a refined decorative accent.

Once the sunray finish is complete, the silver colour is applied using advanced Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) or electroplating techniques. A final protective layer of varnish enhances brilliance, depth, and durability, completing the dial with a smooth and polished finish.

Fluted Bezel

A Rolex Signature

The fluted bezel is a distinctive Rolex design element that represents both heritage and refinement. Originally, its fluting served a functional purpose, allowing the bezel to be screwed onto the case to help ensure the watch’s waterproofness.

This design echoed the fluted case back, which was also securely fastened using specialised Rolex tools to maintain a sealed construction.

Over time, the fluting evolved from a technical feature into a defining aesthetic signature. Today, crafted in gold, it stands as a mark of distinction and elegance on the Datejust 31.

Yellow Rolesor combines 18 ct yellow gold with Oystersteel in a refined and harmonious composition. Gold is prized for its lustre and nobility, while Oystersteel offers strength and enduring reliability.

The Oyster Bracelet

The Oyster bracelet combines aesthetics and technology in a refined design that is both robust and comfortable. It reflects a seamless balance between form and function.

It is fitted with an Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension system, both exclusive to Rolex. This practical innovation allows the bracelet to be extended by approximately 5 mm, ensuring quick adjustment and enhanced comfort in any situation.
