Fluted Bezel
The fluted bezel is a distinctive Rolex design element that represents both heritage and refinement. Originally, its fluting served a functional purpose, allowing the bezel to be screwed onto the case to help ensure the watch’s waterproofness.
This design mirrored the fluted case back, which was also securely fastened using specialised Rolex tools to maintain a sealed construction.
Over time, the fluting evolved from a technical feature into a signature aesthetic detail. Today, crafted in gold, it stands as a mark of distinction and elegance on the Datejust 31.
White Dial
The white dial reflects refined watchmaking craftsmanship achieved through an advanced lacquering technique that delivers purity, depth, and a perfectly smooth finish.
The process begins with the successive application of six thin layers of lacquer on a brass base plate, building a uniform and flawless surface.
A colourless varnish is then applied to enhance brightness, depth, and shine. Once dry, the surface is carefully polished to intensify the clarity and brilliance of the white tone.
Finally, the dial is pad-printed with precise detailing and fitted with its appliques, completing a design defined by simplicity, precision, and technical mastery.
Yellow Rolesor
Yellow Rolesor combines 18 ct yellow gold with Oystersteel in a refined and harmonious composition. Gold is admired for its lustre and nobility, while Oystersteel provides strength and enduring reliability.
Together, they unite their finest qualities, creating a balanced fusion of elegance and durability that enhances both design and performance.
A true Rolex signature, Rolesor has been part of the brand’s identity since the early 1930s and was trademarked in 1933. It remains a key pillar of the Oyster Perpetual collection, symbolising the seamless union of two exceptional materials.
The Jubilee Bracelet
The Jubilee bracelet combines refined craftsmanship with advanced engineering to deliver exceptional comfort, durability, and precision. Its design, development, and production rely on high-technology processes, while each component undergoes rigorous testing to ensure lasting performance.
Alongside technical excellence, every detail is carefully inspected to guarantee flawless aesthetics and impeccable finishing.
Introduced in 1945 for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust, the Jubilee features a distinctive five-piece link construction. Its supple design ensures a smooth, comfortable fit on the wrist, making it a lasting symbol of elegance and refined watchmaking.
