Today, the fluted bezel stands as a mark of distinction and timeless Rolex identity. On the Datejust 31, it is crafted in gold, adding a luxurious and elegant finishing touch to the watch.

The white dial reflects purity, elegance, and precision, brought to life through expert lacquer finishing techniques. Lacquer allows nearly limitless creative freedom in colour while ensuring a smooth, refined surface with exceptional depth.

The process involves carefully applying six ultra-thin layers of lacquer onto a solid brass base plate, building a perfectly even and flawless foundation.

A transparent varnish is then added to enhance the brightness, depth, and brilliance of the surface. Once fully dried, the dial is meticulously polished to enrich its smooth finish and highlight the clarity of the colour.

Finally, the dial is pad-printed with precision details and fitted with its appliques, completing a clean, sophisticated design that embodies timeless elegance.
