Olive-Green Dial

A Watchmaking Technique

The olive-green dial features Roman numerals VI and IX in 18 ct gold, set with 24 diamonds. It showcases Rolex’s signature sunray finish, a refined technique used across the Oyster Perpetual collection to create elegant light reflections.

This finish is achieved through precise brushing methods that form fine grooves radiating outward from the center of the dial. These lines diffuse light evenly, producing a soft glow that subtly shifts with wrist movement.

Once the sunray effect is complete, the dial color is applied using advanced processes such as Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) or electroplating. A final protective layer of varnish is then added, ensuring a smooth, durable, and refined finish.

The diamond-set bezel reflects the artistry of Rolex gem-setting, where skilled craftsmen carefully carve the precious metal to create precise settings for each gemstone.

Each stone is then meticulously placed and aligned with the others, before being securely set in gold or platinum to ensure perfect harmony and stability.

It is fitted with the Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension system, both exclusive to Rolex. This innovative mechanism allows the bracelet to be extended by approximately 5 mm, ensuring added comfort in any wearing condition.
