This silver dial showcases Roman numeral VI and IX crafted in 18 ct gold, enhanced with 24 diamond settings for a luxurious finish. The signature sunray pattern reflects Rolex’s exceptional craftsmanship and is featured across many dials in the Oyster Perpetual collection.

The sunray finish is created using precise brushing techniques that form fine lines radiating from the center of the dial. This design allows light to spread evenly across the surface, producing a soft, elegant glow that shifts beautifully with wrist movement.

After the sunray effect is achieved, the dial receives its color through advanced methods such as Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) or electroplating. A final protective varnish is then applied, giving the dial its refined and lasting appearance.

Fluted Bezel

Iconic Rolex Signature Design

The fluted bezel is one of the most distinctive features of Rolex timepieces, representing elegance and prestige. In its early development, the fluting on the Oyster bezel served a practical role—it allowed the bezel to be tightly screwed onto the case, enhancing the watch’s waterproof performance.

This design was originally mirrored on the case back as well, which was also securely fastened to the case using specialized Rolex tools to ensure complete sealing and durability.

With time, this functional engineering detail evolved into a signature aesthetic element of Rolex craftsmanship. Today, the fluted bezel is recognized as a symbol of luxury and refinement, beautifully crafted in gold on the Datejust 36.

It features the signature Oysterclasp along with the Easylink comfort extension system, an exclusive Rolex innovation. This smart mechanism allows the bracelet length to be adjusted by approximately 5 mm, offering added comfort and flexibility in different wearing conditions.
