This design was mirrored on the fluted case back, which was also tightly fastened using specialized Rolex tools to create a secure seal. Over time, this practical feature evolved into a defining aesthetic detail and a true signature of Rolex design.

Today, the fluted bezel stands as a mark of distinction. Crafted in gold on the Datejust 41, it adds a refined touch of elegance while preserving the brand’s timeless identity.

The white dial showcases a clean and elegant aesthetic achieved through advanced lacquering techniques that offer remarkable depth, purity, and a flawless finish. Lacquer allows exceptional creative freedom, delivering a smooth and uniform surface with refined intensity.

The process involves carefully applying six ultra-thin layers of lacquer onto a brass base plate, building a rich and even foundation. Each layer is precisely applied to achieve perfect consistency and visual depth.

A transparent protective varnish is then added to enhance shine and reinforce the colour’s depth. Once fully dried, the surface is meticulously polished to amplify its brightness and smoothness, preparing the dial for final detailing such as pad printing and the application of hour markers.
