Bright Black Dial

A Watchmaking Technique

The bright black dial features Rolex’s signature sunray finish, creating refined light reflections that enhance its depth and elegance. This effect is achieved through precise brushing techniques that form fine grooves radiating from the centre of the dial.

Light spreads evenly across these engravings, producing a subtle glow that shifts with movement. Once the sunray finish is complete, the colour is applied using Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating, followed by a light varnish that gives the dial its smooth and polished final appearance.
