The Lavender dial of the Oyster Perpetual is created using meticulous lacquer techniques in a controlled-atmosphere environment to ensure perfection.

Layer upon layer of lacquer—six in total—is applied to the brass dial base, forming a uniform surface. After varnishing and polishing to enhance depth and brilliance, inscriptions are pad printed, and the hour markers and crown are hand-riveted. The dial, gleaming in flawless detail, is ready to crown the movement at assembly.

Rolex exclusively uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases. Specially developed by the brand, Oystersteel belongs to the 904L steel family, a high-performance alloy widely used in aerospace and chemical industries for its exceptional resistance to corrosion.
